Jeanette Fay Moss-Kelly, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born July 26, 1943, in Indianapolis to the late Vernon Russell and Ellen Jean Sweet Moss.
Jeanette received an undergraduate degree in social work from Shawnee Community College and later in life furthered her education at Southeast Missouri State University. She spent many years working and taking care of people with developmental disabilities. She was a volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
Jeanette enjoyed classical music, birds, gardening, ballet and piano and was an avid reader.
Survivors include six daughters, Annette Randol, Amy Copeland, Beth Sullivan, Rebecca Welker, Jeanie Mosley and Jessica Kelly-Sea; two sons, John Kelly and Joshua Kelly; sister, Marjorie Todd; four brothers, Calvin, Denny, David and Frank Moss; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela; sister, Judy; brother, Austin; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Fairmount Cemetery, with Pastor Paul Short officiating.
