JONESBORO, Ill. -- Jeanette Laster, 80, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at her home. She was born May 22, 1925, in Orient, S.D., daughter of Ed Thomas and Connie Zelma Phelps Johnson. She and George M. "Bob" Laster were married Nov. 6, 1943, at Commerce, Mo. He died May 12, 2001...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Jeanette Laster, 80, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at her home.

She was born May 22, 1925, in Orient, S.D., daughter of Ed Thomas and Connie Zelma Phelps Johnson. She and George M. "Bob" Laster were married Nov. 6, 1943, at Commerce, Mo. He died May 12, 2001.

Laster was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include four sons, Sammy, Kenny, Donny and Rick Laster, all of Jonesboro; two daughters, Janice Derossett of Conroe, Texas, Bonita Laster of Jonesboro; two brothers, Paul Burford of St. Louis, Jim Johnson of Commerce; two sisters, Joy Simmons of Commerce, Connie Moore of Adrian, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a great-grandson.

Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and at First Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
