DEXTER, Mo. -- Jeanette E. Hamby, 80, of Dexter died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Crowley Ridge Care Center.
She was born March 6, 1921, in Copper Hill, Tenn., daughter of James Garfield and Effie Thomas Harper. She and Jesse Eugene Hamby were married Nov. 17, 1942, in Michigan. He died Aug. 20, 1984.
Formerly of California, she had lived at Dexter 24 years and was a member of First Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Hamby of Vacaville, Calif., Jesse Hamby of Dudley, Mo.; a daughter, Robbie McLard of Dexter; a brother, James Harper of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sisters, Beulah Giudotti of Charlotte, Fla., Della Stone of Detroit, Mich., Bonnie Watkins of Cherokee, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 11 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Hook officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
