Jeanette Gammons, 91, of Portageville, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at Portageville Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Portageville, daughter of James and Lucinda Kimes Adams. She and Ernest "Cheese" Gammons were married Sept. 25, 1923, in Bokerton, Mo.
Gammons was a member of the First Baptist Church of Portageville and a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Dean Gammons of Queen Creck, Ariz., and Joe Dean Gammons of Sunlakes, Ariz.; five daughters, Martha Bell of Portageville, Patsy Hailey of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Saundra Goodheart of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Charlene Nelson of Jackson, Mo., Cindy McCrate of Cordovia, Tenn.; a sister, Doris Wagner of Mesa, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded on death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation was Monday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Buck Morton officiating. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery.
