Jeanette M. "Nettie" Dohogne, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Lutheran Home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to William H. and Mary L. Burger Vandeven. She and Robert "Bob" Dohogne were married Jan. 28, 1961, at St. Mary's Cathedral.

Jeanette was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Southeast Missouri State Teachers College.

She taught at St. Mary's and St. Vincent's grade schools and other area schools.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She volunteered at Saint Francis Medical Center and was active in pro-life causes, including her involvement at Crisis Pregnancy Center.

She enjoyed being with family and loved her grandchildren, their sports and babysitting.

Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Dohogne of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Rob Dohogne, Stuart (Kim) Dohogne and Danny (Anne) Dohogne, all of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Melissa (Brian) Kellmann of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Bill (Mary Sue) Vandeven of Wentzville, Missouri; sister, Martha (Jack) Herring of The Villages, Florida; and nine grandchildren, Luke and Nora Kellmann, Meghan, Benjamin, Lily and Jonathan Dohogne and Dawson, Delaney and Brett Dohogne.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim Vandeven.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, with a Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Options For Women.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
