Funeral Mass for Jean Ellen Latimer of St. Ann, Mo., was held Tuesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Burial was in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn, Mo.

Collier's Funeral Home in Bridgeton, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.

Latimer, 59, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Christian Hospital Northeast.

She was born July 18, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Chester Rosco and Helen Lucille Loos Spann. She and Jerry Allen Latimer were married June 21, 1975, at Marston, Mo.

Latimer was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's High School (now Notre Dame). She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1959 and served at Notre Dame Mother House as Sister Mary Vianne until 1969.

She taught special education at Bloomfield, Mo., schools from 1969-75. After returning to the St. Louis area, she was a teacher at St. Gregory's School, and was a preschool teacher at Woodson Terrace, Mo. She was a member of St. Gregory Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lucinda Latimer of the home; two brothers, Robert Spann of Hazelwood, Mo., James Spann of Berlin, Germany; and a sister, Lucy Perry of Scott City, Mo.
