Jean Lloyd Estes, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 31, 2023, at Southeast Hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Lloyd and Helen Kipping Estes. Jean Lloyd Estes, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 31, 2023, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Lloyd and Helen Kipping Estes.

He served in the Korean conflict in the Navy.

He was a teacher and coach at Cape Girardeau Central Junior High School for over 32 years. He was a farmer and owned many properties. He was a real estate investor.

Survivors include a son, Acy (Valerie) Estes of Jefferson, Georgia; daughter, Karen (Dave) Garrison of Eldon, Missouri; daughter, Kathy (Web) Morrow of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lafferty of Wentzville, Missouri; brother, Ray Estes of St. Augustine, Florida; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Fredrick, Nathan (Lindsey) Lafferty, Melanie (Ryan) Smith, Ryan (Chrissy) Morrow, David Paul Garrison, A.J. Estes and future granddaughter-in-law Ainsley Ewing, Jillian (Drew) Riley and Jolyn Garrison; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard Lafferty.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
