Jean Jerome Deevers, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 21, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, son of Glenn Harlan and Lorena Alta Whittaker Deevers. He served in U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman first class.
He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and a 1941 graduate of Central High School. He had farmed all his life north of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a brother, J.E. Deevers of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Glenda Deevers Eddleman of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
