Jean L. Davis, 75, of Oak Ridge died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 23, 1934, at Newark, Mo., daughter to Paul and Anna Margaret Bailiff Lindsey. Jean and Lee M. Davis were married July 9, 1951. He died Sept. 29, 2004.
Jean graduated from LaBelle High School in LaBelle, Mo. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, where she volunteered her time in the church office from 1978 to 1996. Jean also helped with vacation Bible school and was a teacher's aide at Oak Ridge Schools. She was an election judge in Oak Ridge a number of years.
Survivors include four sons, Steven (Edie) Davis, Kevin (Tracey) Davis of Oak Ridge, Keith (Susan) Davis of Perryville, Mo., Shane (Gayla) Davis of Patton, Mo.; two daughters, Bonnie (Mike) Bollinger, Tracey Davis of Jackson; a brother, Glenn (Kay) Gerard of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, Lena Johannessen of Boulder, Colo., Pauleah Minix of Stockton, Mo., Angela Roth of Battlefield, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Lee Davis.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, and will be held from 9 a.m. to service time today at First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Jon Sedgwick officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery north of Oak Ridge.
