SIKESTON -- Norma I. "Jean" Cox, 60, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1996, at her home. She was born Nov. 4, 1935, at Essex, daughter of Thelmer and Thelma Creed Lindsay. She and Travis E. Cox Sr. were married June 28, 1954, in Angola, Ind. Cox was a bookkeeper 20 years with Beck and McCord Auction Co., and the past four years was secretary at Farm Bureau Insurance. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk and head of the nursery department...

SIKESTON -- Norma I. "Jean" Cox, 60, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1996, at her home.

She was born Nov. 4, 1935, at Essex, daughter of Thelmer and Thelma Creed Lindsay. She and Travis E. Cox Sr. were married June 28, 1954, in Angola, Ind.

Cox was a bookkeeper 20 years with Beck and McCord Auction Co., and the past four years was secretary at Farm Bureau Insurance. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk and head of the nursery department.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Eugene Cox of Poplar Bluff; a daughter, Joy Cox of the home; her mother of Dexter; a brother, Harold Lindsay of Dexter; a sister, Celia Peck of Birmingham, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today, and Saturday after 9 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Ted Wimberly and Bob Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.
