MORRIS, Ill. -- Jean Cobb, 80, of Morris passed away peacefully Friday evening, Aug. 19, 2016, at her home.
Born Dec. 15, 1935, in Glenallen, Missouri, Eugenia Isabelle was a daughter of Homer and Margaret Cato Sharp.
She was raised and educated in Fredericktown, Missouri, and on Jan. 1, 1954, Jean married Jackie Cobb in Mississippi. Over the years Jean worked at Johnson & Johnson Personal Products in Wilmington, Illinois, she drove a special-needs bus for Trinity Services, and was employed at Morris Hospital, as well as in the office of Dr. Glenn Willareth, DC.
Jean was an active member of Minooka United Methodist Church, belonged to the Morris Moose Lodge No. 967, and bowled on leagues in both Morris and Joliet, Illinois. She loved music and enjoyed dancing. Jean and Jack took pleasure in traveling in years past, and she always remained active and involved with Trinity Services.
Survivors include her children, Charles Cobb of Mazon, Illinois, Brent Cobb of New Lenox, Illinois and Kristal Spencer of Minooka, Illinois; five grandchildren, Meigan (Phil) Hansett of Channahon, Illinois, Kaitlyn (Francis) Rinke of Morris, Trevor Spencer of Minooka, Connor Spencer of Iowa and Cole Spencer of Minooka; two great-grandchildren, John and Hazel; several nieces and nephews; as well as cousins Linda (Oscar) Govreau of Missouri and Norma Crews of Georgia.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack on March 5, 2015; and five sisters, Mabel, Mildred, Bernice, Delores and Louise.
Visitation and video tribute will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Reeves Funeral Home (one block east of Illinois Highway 47) in Morris.
The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sarah Hong from Minooka First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sample Cemetery in Morris, where Jean will be laid to rest with her late husband, Jack.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Spencer, Connor Spencer, Cole Spencer, Brian Spencer and Phil Hansett.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jean's memory to Trinity Services, 301 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL 60451.
