ANNA, Ill. — Jason Kyle Lovell, 48, of Anna passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, at Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
He was born Jan. 18, 1975, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Diane Lovell of Anna and the late Larry Lovell.
Jason was a graduate of Anna- Jonesboro High School and Shawnee Community College. He worked several years at Oil Field Electric.
Jason enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, Southern Illinois University basketball and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed family get-togethers.
He is survived by his son, Cameron Lovell of Anna; daughter, Alex Lovell of Knoxville, Tennessee; mother, Diane Lovell of Anna; sister, Alysia (Jay) Kaufman of Buncombe, Illinois; niece, Lydia (Trent) Grider of West Frankfort, Illinois; nephews, Caleb Kaufman and Nathan Kaufman of Buncombe; and great-nephew, Carter Grider. He is also survived by his aunt, Janis (Ronnie) Burford of Benton; uncle, Dennis (Valerie) Lovell of Greenville, Texas; aunts, Clairene Priest of Cape Girardeau, Flora Brucker of New Hamburg and Helen Kluesner of Scott City; uncle, A.J. (Betty) Kluesner of Cape Girardeau; and many cousins.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Larry Lovell; paternal grandparents, Jasper and Georgia Lovell of McClure, Illinois; and maternal grandparents, Frank and Monica Kluesner of Chaffee.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anna. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the church.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Lindsey Cemetery, just east of McClure.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Mary Church of Anna and/or Lindsey Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the church.
