Jannie Ray, 64, of Haywood City, Mo., died Monday, May 26, 2008, at the Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born May 3, 1944, in Drew, Miss., daughter of Booker T. and Velma Moore.

Ray retired from Thorngate Ltd. in Cape Girardeau in 1999. She was a member of New Morning Star Baptist Church in Haywood City and was church treasurer.

Survivors include three sons, Hubert Ray of Cape Girardeau, Billy Ray of Haywood City, Jeff Ray of Marble Hill, Mo.; her mother of New Albany, Miss.; five brothers, Amos, Sam and James Williams and Joe Anderson, all of Albany, Miss., L.C. Anderson of Biloxi, Miss.; four sisters, Mae Ezell, Inez Finley and Rita Rutherford of New Albany, Myra Shields of Tupelo, Miss.; a friend, Major Robinson Jr. of Haywood City; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at New Morning Star Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Alex Sims officiating. Burial will be in Haywood City Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
