Janie Muckleroy Wright, 92, of St. Louis died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013. at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Mrs. Wright was an educator 50 years. She retired from Southeast Missouri State University in 1991 at age 70. She was a teacher and librarian in Texas and Missouri. Following retirement she moved to St. Louis in 1999 to assist in family rental properties. She enjoyed meeting and helping people. Her mantra was "What can I do for you, friend?"
She was the wife of the late Dr. Floyd K. Wright, professor of education at Southeast.
Survivors include a son, Floyd Jr; a daughter, Janice; and a grandson, Ross, all of St. Louis. She has many relatives and friends in Texas, Missouri and around the world who will miss her.
A memorial celebration for family and friends is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6 in St. Louis at 4950 Southwest Ave. (Southwest Garden Neighborhood office). Burial will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford and Sons Funeral Home.
