Janet Daisey Merrick, born in Sikeston, Missouri, in 1944, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, at a nursing facility in Cape Girardeau.

Jan was a registered nurse for 40 years, working in hospitals and nursing homes in California and Missouri. She completed her master's degree at Southeast Missouri State University.

Three sisters -- Betty, Barbara and Carolyn -- survive her, along with nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Garden of Memories in Sikeston at a later date.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
