Janet Marie Lowes, 75, of Jackson passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 20, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Lee Gus and Irene Concordia Boren Steeg.
She and Joe Lee Lowes were married March 1, 1975, in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Janet was a graduate of Jackson High School and was an avid supporter of Jackson High School Indian football.
She was a licensed funeral director and worked at Knaup Floral from 1975 to 2000 before being promoted to become a full-time Nanny for her grandson, Kyle. Janet truly loved her family and always put them before herself.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Lee Lowes of Jackson; a son, Cliff (Sandy) Harris of Edmond, Oklahoma; a daughter, Gail (Chuck) Kessler of Jackson; a brother, Lee (Cheryl) Steeg Jr. of Jackson; a sister, Betty Jo Crites of Jackson; a grandson, Kyle Best; three granddaughters, Laura (Jimmy) Robinson, Ashlee (Scott) Hill and Cheyenne Kessler; and four great-grandchildren, Haley Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Myrrah Robinson and Sylva Hill. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, JerLee Eggimann.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 708 W. Main St. in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tony Kobak officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
