Janet Hansen, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living.

She was born April 15, 1937, in Geneva, Ill., daughter of Axel Samuel and Nellie Sykes Engstrand. She and Paul O. Hansen were married Aug. 10, 1990, in Rochester, Ind.

Hansen received a bachelor's degree from the University of San Francisco. She served in the U.S. Air Force.

She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1991, and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Engstrand of Indiana; three daughters, Rebecca Young and Kimberly Lynn of Indiana, Charlene Hansen of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. John Nimmo officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
