JACKSON, Mo. -- Janet Paar Greene, 73, of Vancouver, Wash., died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Jackson.
Greene was a 1945 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, attended Cornell University, University of Wisconsin, and the University of Missouri.
She taught art and English in public schools in Missouri, Illinois, New York and Connecticut. She was active in local theater in New York, and had been a partner in the Guest House Gallery in Portland, Ore.
Greene was a volunteer with RIO Guild of Legacy Hospital the past 18 years, and also volunteered with Oregon Symphony Auxiliary. She had lived in the Portland and Vancouver areas the past 27 years.
Survivors include her husband, Doug; a son, Charley Greene of LaCenter, Wash.; and a sister, Peggy Heinsius of St. Louis.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver.
