Janet Conrad

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Janet R. Conrad, 78, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

She was born April 23, 1939, in Perryville, daughter of Martin and Della Guemmer Schamburg. She and Roger "Lynn" Conrad were married Aug. 24, 1957. He survives in Perryville.

Janet was a legal secretary 30-plus years. She was member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Chancel Guild. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed sewing and flower gardening. She loved the Christmas season and being with family. Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

Survivors include two daughters and one son, Tammy (Brian) Dreyer of Perryville, Terry (Marilyn) Conrad of St. Louis and Tracey (Alan) Schlichting of Perryville; three sisters, Dorothy Flentge of Perryville, Helen Meyer of Cape Girardeau and Betty (Kelly) Brune of Friedheim; six grandchildren, Shannon (Garrett) Behrle, Jason (Emily) Dreyer, Justin (Rachel) Dreyer, Ryan (Sarah) Conrad and Kirstin and Luke Schlichting; and eight great-grandchildren, Reese, Nolan and Sutton Behrle, Lacey, Keeley and Tinsley Dreyer, Reagan and Collins Dreyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, LaVerne Fiehler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School or the American Diabetes Association.
