Janet Bradfield, 65, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, in the comfort of her home. She was born Dec. 6, 1945, in Owensboro, Ky., to Walter and Harriett Ellis Karney. She and Harold Bradfield were married in June 1964 in Shawneetown, Ill. They lived in many states and various towns before settling down in Cape Girardeau...

Janet Bradfield, 65, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, in the comfort of her home.

She was born Dec. 6, 1945, in Owensboro, Ky., to Walter and Harriett Ellis Karney. She and Harold Bradfield were married in June 1964 in Shawneetown, Ill. They lived in many states and various towns before settling down in Cape Girardeau.

Janet worked in customer service at Sears more than 25 years, where she formed many close relationships with fellow employees. She was a member of the Lady Elks Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo with many close friends. She also loved spending time with and cooking for her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include Harold Bradfield of Cape Girardeau; a son, Mark Bradfield and wife Bonnie of Sedgewickville, Mo.; two daughters, Julie Bumpus and husband Dave of Cape Girardeau, Shannon Tolbert and husband Tim of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; a brother, Walter Karney Jr. of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Kyle Brown and Matthew and Mollie Bumpus of Cape Girardeau, Madison and Quinton Tolbert of Mount Juliet.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
