JANE KNIESTEDT

FROHNA -- Jane Kniestedt, 62, of Frohna died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 9, 1937, at Zell, daughter of Fred and Grace Grein Bauman. She and Thomas Kniestedt were married April 19, 1958.

Kniestedt was retired from the Edgewood Program at St. John's Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek, Altenburg Lions Club, former president of Southeast Missouri Master Gardener, secretary to State Advisory Board, and St. Joseph Shrine and Redecorating Committee.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Susan Trautman and Mary Neels of Sunset Hills, Karen Potter of Glendale, Wis.; and a son, James Kniestedt of Frohna.

Also surviving are three sisters, Vernetta Heil and Rita Ramer of Ste. Genevieve, Henrietta Bartels of St. Marys; three brothers, Herbert Bauman of Ste. Genevieve, David Bauman of Memphis, Tenn., Carroll Bauman of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 2:30-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-9:20 a.m. The wake will be at 4 p.m. today.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Mark Bozada will officiate. Burial will be in Valley Springs Cemetery at Ste. Genevieve.
