CHARLESTON -- Jane Holt, 88, of Charleston, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 1, 1908, in Smithville, Ark., daughter of Benjamin M. and Bernice Baker Hillhouse. She and L.B. Holt were married Aug. 20, 1926. He died Sept. 22, 1969.
Holt retired in 1972 as a postal clerk at Wyatt Post Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Athena Club of Charleston.
Survivors include a daughter, Becky Story of Charleston; a brother, Ray Hillhouse of Charleston; two sisters, Helen Robbins of Batesville, Ark., Geneva Mullen of Smithville; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, brother and sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. H.W. Chaney and Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
