Jane Henrichsen, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, in Sebring, Florida.
She was born April 28, 1924, in Advance, Missouri, daughter of Franklin and Edith Irene Humphrey Farrar. She and Dr. Arthur Henrichsen were married April 29, 1978, in Carson City, Nevada. He preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1995.
Jane was a dental assistant more than 20 years at the Veterans Hospital in Sepulveda, California. She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, where she volunteered in the nursery. Jane was a member of the Red Hat Society at Saxony Village and loved to play cards with her group of friends there.
She was on the board at Saxony Village, which was her primary home. She enjoyed volunteering at the veterans home in Cape Girardeau and at the Festival of Sharing with the United Methodist Church. She was a sponsor of Heifer International and many other charities. She was happiest when she was traveling or helping her family and friends.
Survivors include two sisters, Verda Minton of Katy, Texas, and Alice (Jack) Ketcher of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Bill Farrar Sr. of Rolla, Missouri; two stepsons, Robert Henrichsen of Auburn, California, and Arthur "Lon" (Janet) Henrichsen of Virginia; two stepdaughters, Lynne Henrichsen of West Hollywood, California, and Kay (Ken) Burgdorff of West Covina, California; a sister-in-law, Colleen Farrar; a brother-in-law, James Bowers of Cape Girardeau; many nieces and nephews she dearly loved; and two special cousins, Linda and Jerry Eggimann of Advance.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Marshall; a brother, Carl Farrar; and three sisters, Juanita Farrar, Mary Evans and Dorothy Bowers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
