JEFFERSON CITY -- Jane Ely "Chuckie" Masters, 65, of Jefferson City died Monday, Dec. 25, 1995, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

She was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late William Douglas and Ruth Ferguson Ely. She married Frank M. Masters on Aug. 14, 1951, at Cape Girardeau. He survives.

She graduated from Cape Girardeau High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University and Murray State University in Murray, Ky.

She had been a resident of Jefferson City since 1957 and was a homemaker. She had formerly worked at Herman's Department Store in Jefferson City. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, the Cole County Historical Society, the Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Jay Band Booster Club. She was active in the Grace Episcopal Church Re-Sell-It Shop and in Girl Scouting, and was past president of the Jefferson City Jaycee Jills.

Survivors include two daughters: Nancy Barbour of Fairfax, Va., and Cecelia McClure of Jefferson City; a son, William E. Masters of Jefferson City; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be today at the Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Harvel Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Grace Episcopal Church.
