Jane Albrecht, 82, of Scott City passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 27, 1930, daughter of Clarence Anderson and Frieda Dillingham Jones. She and George Albrecht were married April 20, 1952.

Jane grew up in Cape Girardeau and attended Trinity Lutheran School and the former College High School.

She lived all her married life on the Albrecht Dairy Farm. Jane retired as a secretary for Gay & Taylor Insurance Adjusters. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City, and served her church as youth director, choir director and Sunday school teacher.

She served on Scott City Transit System Board and directed the Scott City PTO Follies 10 years. She was recognized for her community service with a declaration that Feb. 13 to 19, 1983, was Jane Albrecht Appreciation Week. Jane's happiest moments were when she made others laugh, and she was good at doing that.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Howell and Becky (Richard) Tapley; four grandchildren, Adam (April) Howell, Brett (Cassandra) Howell, Whitney Tapley and Austin Tapley, all of Scott City. She adored her three great-grandchildren, Michaela, Xzander and Elyse Howell; five great-stepgrandchildren, Haley Chiles, Brianna Sykes, Caleb Sykes, Daci Tillman and Christopher Sansoucie; and a great-great-stepgranddaughter, Makena Pate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at Eisleben Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Marty Hasz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery next to George, where their marker reads "Meet Me in Heaven."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Eisleben Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association.
