Janavee Garner
Janavee Lena Garner, 85, of Chaffee, Mo., died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 21, 1924, near Dexter, Mo., daughter of Ivan and Myrtle Snider Wilson.
Janavee worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chaffee for several years. Later she worked at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where she retired in 1992.
She was a member of the Assembly of God in Chaffee for many years. She had been attending Cape First in Cape Girardeau for the past 25 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Smith of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Kim Guillossou of Flanders, N.J., Jerry Smith of St. Charles, Mo., Jeff Smith of Denton, Texas, Leslie Horman of Chaffee; and five great-grandchildren, Justin Smith, Max Guillossou, Austin Smith, all of Flanders, and Garner Horman and Griffin Horman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Garner; a brother; and two sisters.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Naomi Newman and Carol Robinson will also be speaking during the service.
Burial will be at the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
