Jan A. Chick, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Brackenridge, Pa., son of August and Olga Mattloll Chick. He and Nancy Black were married Dec. 22, 1951, in Cape Girardeau. She died April 20, 1984.
Chick was a 1950 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He had worked at Lesem Tire Co., owned and operated Jan Chick Tire Co., and was a salesman at Jim Wilson Co.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and Downtown Rotary Club. He was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Michael Chick of Trantum, Pa.
There is no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Private entombment will be Friday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
