James William "Jamie" Dodd Sr., 58, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Jan. 5, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, to the late James "Jr" and Bonnie (Flowers) Dodd. Jamie and Sandy Medley were married May 7, 1977, in Cape Girardeau.

Jamie had worked for Leming Lumber and Sides Recycling. Most recently, he was self-employed as a metal recycler. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and attended the Church of God in Cape Girardeau. He loved to hunt, fish and hold and attend auctions. He was an avid Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; a son, James "Jr" (Kim) Dodd II of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Amy Nicole Dodd of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Eddie (Marliyn) Dodd of Scott City; a sister, Lucita (David) McNeely of Scott City; five grandchildren, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Kyle, McKenzie and Cameron; a great-grandson, Hunter; canine companion, Macy; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David McNeely officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
