James F. Williams Jr., 86, of Crump passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Dutchtown, son of James F. and Emma Brase Williams Sr. He and Euva L. Jackson were married Dec. 2, 1940, in Crump. Williams was a lifelong resident of Crump, where he worked in his father's store as a child and attended grade school. ...

James F. Williams Jr., 86, of Crump passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at his home.

He was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Dutchtown, son of James F. and Emma Brase Williams Sr. He and Euva L. Jackson were married Dec. 2, 1940, in Crump.

Williams was a lifelong resident of Crump, where he worked in his father's store as a child and attended grade school. He attended high school in Randles and Gordonville. He owned and operated the former Williams Implement Oliver Dealership in Jackson, sold used cars and drove a truck many years, retiring from ABF Trucking in 1986.

Williams attended and supported Lake Girardeau Assembly of God Church in Crump. His family and friends will remember him for his witty personality and his ability to "never meet a stranger." His favorite pastimes were talking and driving fast.

Loving survivors include his wife of Crump; seven children, Sharon (Stanley) Kight, Saundra (Fred) Kight, Donna (Jerry) Willer, James F. "Jim" (Donna) Williams III, all of the Whitewater area, Yvonne (Ed) Rhodes of Ironton, Mo., Pam (Gene) Davis of Jackson, Marsha (Kenneth) Bohnsack of Sedgewickville, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Flora Wiseman, Mildred Helderman, Jean (Ray) Green, all of Whitewater; a sister-in-law, Maggie Williams of Gordonville; and brother-in-law, Clifton Trentham of Marble Hill, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Ralph Williams; and a sister, Irene Trentham.

Friends may call today from 4 p.m. to time of service at McCombs Funeral Home, 1425 Kurre Lane, Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Thomas and David Jackson officiating.

Committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 23, at Proffer Cemetery in Crump.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Southeast Hospice or Gideons International.
