BROWNWOOD, Mo. -- James H. "Jim" White, 78, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1937, at Brownwood, son of Elwood and Myrtle Strong White.
Jim was a former bus driver for Advance School District. He retired from Florsheim Shoe Factory. He had been a shoe repairman and a musician. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army.
He and Joy Shirrell were married Oct. 15, 1960.
Survivors include his wife, Joy White; two sons, Edward Ray (Ruth) White of Brownwood and Jamie White of Advance; three daughters, Deborah Crump of San Antonio, Texas, Kimberly Talley of Arlington, Texas, and Pamela Walker of Brownwood; a brother, Ernie White of Land O' Lakes, Florida; a sister, Carolyn Ranschburg of Brownwood; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby brother, Kenneth Ray; a sister, Rachel Sue; and a great-grandson, Jonathan M. Welker.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery with full military rites.
