PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- James E. Weekley, 70, of Barnhart, Missouri, formerly of Perryville, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, in Chester, Illinois. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- James E. Weekley, 70, of Barnhart, Missouri, formerly of Perryville, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, in Chester, Illinois.

He was born June 28, 1944, in East St. Louis, Illinois, son of Cecil H. and Hilda Fairhurst Weekley.

James had been a transportation logistics specialist. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam.

Survivors include one son, Gregory (Hyonsun) Weekley of Camp Yongsan, Korea; one brother, Larry Weekley of Perryville; one stepbrother, Robert Winlet of St. Louis; and two grandsons, Maxwell and Matthew Weekley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Cebulak officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery with military graveside service provided by the American Legion and Fort Leonard Wood 4th MEB.

Memorials are preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project.
