DEXTER, Mo. -- James Donald Watkins, 69, of Dexter died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Sept. 9, 1932, at Sturdivant, Mo., son of Homer and Emma Berry Watkins.
Watkins was a retired truck driver, mechanic and carpenter.
Survivors include three sons, Randy Watkins of Bonne Terre, Mo., Gary Watkins of Chaffee, Mo., Jimmy Watkins of Linwood, Wash.; two daughters, Gala Deckard of Brownwood, Mo., Kathy Barrett of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two stepsons, Larry Dugger of Zalma, Mo., Everett Dugger of the state of Texas; a brother, Ronald Watkins of Pratt, Kan.; three sisters, Evelyn Colbert, Elva Jackson and Melvina Martin, all of Advance, Mo.; a friend, Flo Kirby of Dexter; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Cato Cemetery near Arab, Mo.
