JACKSON -- James W. "Bud" Brown, 50, of Jackson, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 1994.
He was born Dec. 22, 1943, at Oran, son of James Arnold and Ruby Mae Slinkard Brown. On June 10, 1967, he married the former Linda Beussink at Leopold.
Brown had worked for Cotton Belt Railroad since 1967, and was promoted to conductor in 1974.
He was a member of United Transportation Union 512 of Illmo, Calvary United Pentecostal Church, and former trustee of the church. He was vice president of the Southeast Missouri Beagle Club. He served six years in the Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Travis Brown of Jackson; two daughters, Tammy Brown of St. Louis, Tara Brown of Jackson; his parents of Jackson; three brothers, Delmer Brown of Jefferson City, the Rev. Ronnie and Steve Brown of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, and at Calvary Church after 1 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Revs. Harold Hodge, Ronnie Brown and Mike Braswell officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
