James T. Singleton, 73, 1723 Bloomfield, died Tuesday, June 8, 1993, at his home.
He was born March 6, 1920, near Sikeston, son of James T. and Annie Morris Singleton. He and Lucille Smith were married Aug. 29, 1964, at Caruthersville.
Singleton was a retired clerk with U.S. Post Office. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Naval Reserve from 1964-79, and past member of VFW.
Survivors include his wife; adopted son, Jason of Bismarck; a son, Mike of Greendale, Wis.; a stepson, Ron Moss of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Linda Fears of Cape Girardeau and Bernadine Skaggs of Puxico; a daughter, Angela Davie of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Earl Singleton of Sikeston; a sister, Vera Trousdale of Greenbrier, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and grandson.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
