James Michael Smith, 44, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1976, in Cape Girardeau to Danny and Nadine Mary Steimle Smith.
He was a vault technician at Wilbert Vault Co. in Jackson. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri, and Wednesday night men's bowling league in Cape Girardeau, where he bowled a perfect 300 game; and was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his parents, Danny and Nadine Smith of Cape Girardeau; brother, William "B.J." (Heather) Smith of Cape Girardeau; sister, Alexis (Travis) Matheney of East Prairie, Missouri; and five nieces and nephews, Gavin, Kaden, Elynn, Ayla Smith and Bobby Joe "B.J." Matheney.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Prayer service will be at 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
