GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- James Robert "Gus" Reichert, 70, of Grand Chain, Ill., died Friday, Sept. 13, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was the son of Robert and Mary Johnson Reichert. He married Mary Jo McCluskey.
Reichert was a retired farmer and served as president and chairman of the board of directors of the First State Bank of Olmsted. He was also a member and past president of both the Century School Board and the Pulaski-Alexander County Farm Bureau Board. He was a former trustee of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and VFW. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jane Cassibry of West Paducah, Ky., Beth Honey of Ullin and Lisa Miller of Grand Chain; a son, Bob Reichert of Grand Chain; two sisters, Adelaide Frieb of Chicago and Joan Myers of San Antonio; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call today at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak from 5:30-9 p.m. Prayers will be at 7:30.
Funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Grand Chain. The Rev. William McGhee and Jerome Hartlein will officiate, with burial at St. Catherine Cemetery.
