James R. Gill
JACKSON -- James R. Gill, 66, of Jackson and formerly of Delta died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 26, 1933, at Puxico, son of Hansel and Velda Mitchell Gill. He married Linda Myers at Chaffee on Feb. 23, 1985. She survives.
He worked as a carpenter for E.R. Thompson Construction Co. in Cape Girardeau and was a member of Carpenters Local 1770 in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Gill of St. Louis and Brian Gill of Poplar Bluff; a daughter, Kelly Gill of Springfield; two stepsons, Doug LaFentres of Scott City and Mark LaFentres of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Mitchell Gill of Millersville; two sisters, Audrey James of Jackson and Janet Dunning of Whitewater; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Proctor officiating.
Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
