James "J.D." Phillips, 75, of Gordonville died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Thursday, Jan. 17, 1935, in Neelys Landing, Mo., to Claude and Eula Robinson Phillips. He and Mary Frances Winkler were married in 1956 at Gordonville.
Phillips was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. He worked at International Shoe Co. for 20 years before working at Proctor & Gamble as a mechanic for more than 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Phillips of Gordonville; three daughters, Cathy Goodman and husband, Tim, Cindy Seyer and husband, Mike, all of Jackson, Christy Phillips of St. Louis; a sister, Mae Biri of Jackson; and four grandchildren, Malerie Goodman and fiance Brent Essner, Spencer Goodman, Kelsey Seyer and Clare Seyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at noon at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau or to the American Heart Association.
