James Pettit Jr.

TAMMS, Ill. -- James L. "Jim" Pettit Jr., 61, of Waddy, Ky., formerly of Tamms, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Crestview Center in Shelbyville,

Ky.

He was born Sept. 7, 1951, at Dundee, Ill., son of the late James L. Pettit Sr. and Shirley Pettit.

Jim was of the Methodist belief.

Survivors include a cousin and caregiver, Rick (Cindy) Pettit of Waddy; a brother, Mike Pettit of Baltimore; four sisters, Barbara Hanning of Pottsboro, Texas, Suzann Masters of McKinney, Texas, and Debbie Doyle and Diane Smithson of Arlington, Texas; three aunts, Dot (Gene) Heater of Livonia, Mich., Irene Pettit and family of Villa Ridge, Ill., and Laneta Pettit of Golden Eagle, Ill.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two aunts, Janette Chaudoin and Naomi Thomas; two uncles, Roland Pettit Jr. and John Pettit.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment was in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
