Read, 81, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born July 21, 1913, in Greenwood, Miss., son of Allie Jesse and Martha Rebecca Petty Read. He and Rose Withrow were married Nov. 17, 1962.

Read was a retired airplane pilot and accountant. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife.
