James Overbaugh, 44, of Tomah, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. He was born March 22, 1957, at West Palm Beach, Fla. He married Rhonda Runner in Palm Beach Gardens on Oct. 18, 1980. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a medic. After his discharge he worked as a crop duster. After his marriage he rejoined the Army and flew Blackhawk helicopters. After his second discharge he flew the EMS Life Beat helicopters in Cape Girardeau...

James Overbaugh, 44, of Tomah, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 22, 1957, at West Palm Beach, Fla. He married Rhonda Runner in Palm Beach Gardens on Oct. 18, 1980. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a medic. After his discharge he worked as a crop duster. After his marriage he rejoined the Army and flew Blackhawk helicopters. After his second discharge he flew the EMS Life Beat helicopters in Cape Girardeau.

He also served in Desert Storm as an active reservist. He rejoined the military again as an active Guard reserve and flight-trained for C-12s at Fort Rucker, Ala. He was stationed at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin in August 2000, serving in B Company, 6th Battalion, 52nd Aviation Regiment.

He also is survived by a son, Jason Douglas Overbaugh of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Dana Leigh Overbaugh of Tomah; his mother, Mabel Overbaugh of Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother, Chris "Sunny" Overbaugh of Atlanta, Ga.

Visitation will be from 10 to noon Saturday at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, with a Masonic service at 11 a.m.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Larry Biederman officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
