CHARLESTON -- James Otis Chandler, 82, of Mounds, Ill., died Feb. 2, 1995, at the Charleston Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1913, in Houston, Miss., the son of William Bolden and Sarah Jennings Chandler.
He was a Baptist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Louetter Mitchell Chandler of Benton Harbor, Mich., two daughters, Francis Mae Griffen and Lula Gray Brown, both of Benton Harbor; a sister, Jimmie Lee Brown of Charleston; nine grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. today at the Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. J.L. Posey will officiate, and burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
