THEBES, Ill. -- James Ray Monahan, 48, of Thebes died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, on arrival at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 20, 1957, in Mount Clemens, Mich., son of Jimmie Lee and Marvalee Bryant Monahan.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by four sons, Chad Monahan of San Diego, Calif., Adam Monahan of Jackson, Cody Monahan of Cape Girardeau, Brandon Monahan of Thebes; a daughter, Laura Strand of Jackson; his parents of Thebes; maternal grandmother, Lorene Bryant of Thebes; paternal grandmother, Ruth Monahan of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Tamra Dougherty of Thebes; a brother, Jon Monahan of Thebes; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers and a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and Wednesday until time of service.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dustin Easton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes, with full military honors by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891.
