SIKESTON -- James M. "Jimmy" Law, 79, of Sikeston died Friday, July 19, 1991, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Sikeston, the son of Robert Samuel and Ella Belle Clayton Law. On May 28, 1938, he married Eileen Johnson in Sikeston. She survives of the home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He also was formerly involved in Little League baseball in Sikeston, and was a former member of the Sikeston Park Board and the Sikeston Housing Authority.
He served two terms as Scott County Recorder of Deeds, and for 25 years, he served as a sales representative for the Fabick Bros. Equipment Co. in Sikeston. He also was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston.
Other survivors include a son, Joel Law of Memphis, Tenn., a daughter Suzy Dockins of Sikeston; a grandson, Lee dockins of Poplar Bluff; and a granddaugher Ann Dockins of Sikeston.
Friend may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Lee Brummel will officiate, and burial will be in the Sikeston City Cemetery.
