James Marshall Adams, 78, 1030 N. Lorimier, died Wednesday, June 16, 1993, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 10, 1914, at Morley, son of Albert M. and Florence Atherton Adams. He first married Pauline Marable March 3, 1942, in St. Louis. She died Nov. 30, 1989. He and Anita Hicks were married March 25, 1990.
Adams was a retired real estate broker, and had owned and operated Russell Hotel at Charleston 20 years. He was a member of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Bill Adams of Portland, Ore.; three sisters, Camille Wilson of Pineland, Fla., Mary Foster of Lompoc, Calif., and Bernice Adams of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Earl Statler will officiate, wiht burial in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
There is no visitation.
