CHAFFEE, Mo. -- James Michael Lilliker, 60, of Rolla, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007.
He was born Aug. 3, 1947, in Chaffee, to Robert and Marie Minor Lilliker.
He married Marlene Storey Dec. 30, 1992.
Mike was a guidance counselor for public schools in several Missouri locations. He was very civically involved in the communities in which he lived, especially programs directed toward teenagers that helped them reach their full potential. He loved nature and was an avid outdoorsman.
Michael was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Barbara; and a brother, David Lilliker.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Marie, of Doniphan, Mo.; a foster son, Sgt. David Chavarria of Fort Hood, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Norma Storey of Rolla; five grandchildren; and his canine and feline children, Skally, Shadow, Highway, CC, Kitty and Callie.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
