James Lee Bower, 71, of Friedheim passed away at his home Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016.
He was born Sept. 18, 1944, at Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of Oscar Lee and Roberta Bower.
He married Debra Jean Oliver on Jan. 18, 1969, and she survives.
James was a lifelong farmer and a bricklayer.
Along with his wife, James is survived by a daughter, Rachel (Micah) Stone; a grandson, Drake Stone; two granddaughters, Piper and Callie Stone; and four sisters, Bonnie Twomey, Annette Kiepe, Helen Scripter and Donna Hanks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Letha Boyer.
A memorial will be held at 6 p.m. today at New Salem United Methodist Church at Daisy.
