James Howard Lambert, 56, of Fruitland passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 4, 1961, in Carbondale, Illinois, son of Howard and Dena LaDonne Lane Lambert. He and Sudena Carriger were married Sept. 26, 1987, in Carbondale.
James was a dedicated family man and a hard-working driver for SEMO Ready Mix. He enjoyed fishing, but more important to him was the opportunity to coach both softball and soccer for Shelby and Jackson Area Youth Football for Tanner.
Loving survivors include his wife, Sudena Lambert; his mother, Dena LaDonne Lambert of Marion, Illinois; a son, Tanner Lambert of Fruitland; a daughter, Shelby Lambert (William Downey) of Fruitland; three sisters, Marilyn Tolar of Dayton, Ohio; Cynthia (Jim) Yusko of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, and Lori (Jon) Lam of Makanda, Illinois; as well as two grandsons, Brayden and Seth Downey of Fruitland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lambert, and his father- and mother-in-law, Jim and Wanda Carriger.
The visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with his nephew, Pastor Eric Lam, and the Rev. Mike Parry officiating.
Cremation will be accorded by McCombs Funeral Home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
