OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- James A. "Jimmy" Klein, 39, of Olive Branch died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Cairo, Ill., son of John Roland and Rose Marie Spies Klein. He married Rebecca Louise Nix.
Klein was a superintendent with Illinois-American Water Co. of Cairo.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, Cairo Elks Lodge 651, Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce, member and current president of Cairo Rotary Club, and a fourth degree member and past grand knight of Cairo Knights of Columbus 1027.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Andrea Klein of Olive Branch; a son, Jacob Klein of Olive Branch; his mother of Cairo; five brothers, John Klein Jr. of Kirkwood, Mo., Stephen Klein of Greece; Larry Klein of Cairo, Greg Klein of Jonesboro, Ill., and Mark Klein of Jackson, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 4 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 8, followed by a Knights of Columbus honor guard and prayer service.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Jerome Fortenberry, Dr. Larry L. Potts and the Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.
