James Marvin Steven Karnes, 39, of Scott City died Thursday, April 17, 2014, in Scott City. He was born Aug. 30, 1974, at Doniphan, Mo., son of James Marvin and Anna Marie Grider Karnes. James was a mechanic at Seyer's Garage in Cape Girardeau. Survivors include his mother, Anna Sanders of Cape Girardeau; fiancee, Michelle Wilburn of Scott City; two sons, Michael and Cameron Karnes of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Zoey Karnes of the home; a brother, Joe Crawford of Oran, Mo.; a sister, Sherry Wallace of Dyer County, Tenn.; and a stepsister, Tammy Karnes of Manitou, Colo.. ...

He was born Aug. 30, 1974, at Doniphan, Mo., son of James Marvin and Anna Marie Grider Karnes.

James was a mechanic at Seyer's Garage in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his mother, Anna Sanders of Cape Girardeau; fiancee, Michelle Wilburn of Scott City; two sons, Michael and Cameron Karnes of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Zoey Karnes of the home; a brother, Joe Crawford of Oran, Mo.; a sister, Sherry Wallace of Dyer County, Tenn.; and a stepsister, Tammy Karnes of Manitou, Colo.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Father's Arms Fellowship Church in Scott City. The Rev. Ken Strong will officiate.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
